As a provider of essential infrastructure services, Ventia's Transport teams are often first on the ground during natural disasters helping to keep roads, tunnels and also airports open and operating safely.
During the recent record-breaking rain and subsequent flooding across South East Queensland, the Ventia team working on the Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) pavement maintenance services contract worked around the clock to ensure Brisbane Airport could remain open and continue operating safely for all airport personnel, visitors and travelers.
Krishan Tangri, Executive General Manager Infrastructure & Planning for BAC praised Ventia for its role in keeping the airport open.
"I would like to thank you and your team in providing the support to the BAC team in keeping the airport operational and then restoring the airport to full operations," said Krishan.
These were unprecedented times and your team rose to the challenge and helped us to manage this crisis through. We value you as a collaborating partner in our business and hope that we will continue to strengthen our relationship.
David McPadden, Ventia's interim Group Executive for Transport, is proud of the team's response to the challenges caused by the devastating weather event.
"I am very proud of the way the team has worked together with Brisbane Airport Corporation during these challenging times and done so with safety as the highest priority," says David.

I also want to extend a big thank you to all our Transport teams across both Queensland and NSW who are responding around the clock to issues and repairs as the situation continues to unfold across both states.
Ventia commenced work on the BAC pavement maintenance services contract in October 2021, providing maintenance services of pavement and roadside assets for the airport's landside and airside road networks across both Domestic and International terminals.
