We have been awarded a further one-year extension to our community facilities management contract across Tahi and Wha regions with Auckland Council. This takes the contract to its final extension, through to June 2027.

General Manager Local Government Katie James says the Auckland Council contract team’s commitment to partnering with our client in the delivery of initiatives like the deployment of eco-friendly landscaping equipment.

Our client focus means that we’re always looking for ways to do things better, more economically, in a more environmentally friendly way and in ways that support and inspire the communities in which we operate.

“We’ve been working with Auckland Council on trialing cutting edge electric mowers, which will help council reduce carbon emissions as well as providing a quieter operation so that locals will barely notice them at work.”

“This is just one innovation among many of the seven years we have held this contract.”

The initial contract commenced in July 2017 and sees Ventia deliver full facilities management services including maintenance of Council’s assets such as parks, buildings and community facilities including libraries, tracks and hard surfaces, community halls and swimming pools, as well as sports field renovations.

From April 2019, the contract expanded to include a range of additional streetscape services including vegetation control, town centre cleaning, litter collection, street furniture maintenance, bus shelter cleaning, and litter bin emptying. The contract also includes a range of minor capital works projects across the two regions.
