PFAS team awarded research grant by ALGA

PFAS team member completing testing

Our PFAS team has been awarded the 2018 Research and Development grant by the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA).

In collaboration with the National Measurement Institute (NMI), ALS and eurofins | mgt, the $45,000 grant will contribute to research on the topic of "Improving measurement reliability of the PFAS TOP assay", which will aim to produce robust procedural guidelines and improved confidence in the TOP assay* used to test complex PFAS precursor contamination.

Our project supports an industry research need that was recently identified in the PFAS National Environment Management Plan (NEMP).

We're proud of our dedicated, specialist PFAS team who are actively researching and developing innovative, practical and cost-effective technologies that can be used to remediate PFAS contamination.

We look forward to sharing the results of our findings with the environmental community.

About the ALGA Research & Development Grant

The Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) Ltd Grant was launched in 2017 to support the important role of research and development for the contaminated land and remediation industry and the on-going positive impacts it has on our communities. *TOP assay: Total Oxidisable Precursor assay is used to assess the potential for ongoing sources of PFAS contamination in the environment that are not able to be detected by conventional PFAS analytical methods.
