Four defence stakeholders pictured at meeting

Ventia was pleased to host a meeting of Defence Construction Industry stakeholders last week with special guest, The Hon Stephen Patterson MP, Minister for Trade and Investment, South Australia to discuss opportunities under the Defence State Sector Strategy 2030, announced by Premier Steven Marshall in December 2020.

Ventia (formerly Broadspectrum) is the largest infrastructure services provider to Defence in Australia and with a Defence workforce of 400 in South Australia, we took the opportunity to bring together several valued contract delivery and industry partners, including Defence Estate & Infrastructure Group, Defence SA, Defence Teaming Centre and Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI).

ANI General Manager, Mr Paul Bates, also briefed the audience on future maritime opportunities at Osborne, while Defence SA Executive Director Defence and Space, Mr Reg Carruthers, spoke more broadly about Defence opportunities across the state.

As Australia's fifth largest Defence contractor, Ventia is committed to supporting and partnering with local businesses in South Australia for maritime projects and delivery of infrastructure projects. Thanks to all those who joined us for a great day of networking.
