Partnering with Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU), Ventia provides maintenance and minor capital work services across a large part of South East Queensland. QUU supplies drinking water and sewerage services to over 1.4 million people.
Our work with QUU includes:
- design and construct of new property connections
- supply of large water meters
- responsive maintenance (bursts and leaks)
- water network isolations
- fire hydrant testing and refurbishment
- construction of new water and sewer mains
These activities are underpinned by technology-enabled processes with mobile on-site devices that capture and analyses field data in real time. Crews have access to job details, safety procedures, dial before you dig, geographical information system records about assets and Ventia's business management system all via their mobile devices. Work as executed, asset information and photographs are recorded and provided to the client.
In the last three years, Ventia has delivered more than 4,500 new property connections and disconnections to QUU's water and sewer network. In the same period, we have tested almost 20,000 fire hydrants.
We also worked with QUU to replace 25 flowmeters which resulted in improved supply network efficiency. Ventia installed new electromagnetic flow meters and commissioned the metering in 26 separate sites. We provided the labour, plant and materials and delivered the project in a manner that minimised disruption to QUU's customers.
