Ventia has been Austin Health's trusted facility management provider for over a decade, delivering services that ensure hospital environments can deliver the best patient outcomes, are safe and compliant with legislative requirements, and operate at peak efficiency. 

Our understanding of Austin Health's objectives, active collaboration with them, and strategic use of technology enhances delivers tangible improvements to hospital infrastructure, improving both operational efficiency and patient care.

More than 200 specialised staff and contractors are deployed on this contract. Their expertise and commitment play a vital role in achieving outcomes for Austin Health; their skills and capabilities are critical to meet the evolving needs of the health sector.

Scope of work

  • Facilities, Engineering & Maintenance: Operational support – including pest control – to ensure Austin Health’s medical and non-medical infrastructure remain fully operational and safe for patients and staff. 
  • Project Management: Management of infrastructure projects and equipment installation. 
  • Property management: Maintain the premises and manage the leases of 58 properties across Austin Health. 
  • Emergency response: 24/7 rapid response to fix critical infrastructure issues. 
  • Compliance management: Ensuring all facilities adhere to health and safety regulations and emergency systems maintenance. 
  • Fleet management: Maintaining a fleet of 175 vehicles. 
  • Energy efficiency: Implementation of energy-saving technologies and practices to reduce the hospital’s carbon footprint and operational costs. 

 

Project outcomes

  • Improved operational efficiency: Our responsiveness, focus on preventative maintenance, and technology-driven approach has kept facilities, critical infrastructure and vehicles fully functional. 85% of repairs were completed within 24 hours. 
  • Improved sustainability: Implementation of eco-friendly practices and technologies, including installation of 
    • LED lighting which has cut Austin Health’s energy usage by 75% at each installation and reduced its environmental impact. 
    • Four twin EV charging stations in the Austin Health complex which has reduced costs by around 40% compared to petrol-powered vehicles 
  • Improved technology: IoT tech has been employed to monitor and control climate control assets and ensure optimal temperature and air quality throughout Austin Health facilities, including operating theatres, COVID wards, patient labs and kitchens. 
  • 100% regulatory compliance: Austin Health has been able to meet or exceed health and safety regulations. 
  • Uplift in client satisfaction: Our partnership approach has seen customer satisfaction rise to 98%.
